Pirate Birthday Party Ideas

What little 4 year old does not love pirates and lots of make believe. A pirate birthday party is a great way to celbrate this imaginary time in their life. If you choose the pirate party from http://www.polkadotzkidz.com/ the birthday child will get their own personalized pirate shirt to wear to the special party.

To decorate for the party I recommend red and black as the theme colors. If you are going to eat use a solid red or black table cloth with a bir of netting as a table runner. Through some gold coins on the table to add a little sparkle. Add black and red balloons to get everyone in the party spirit.

When the guests arrive let them go to the craft table a decorate a small pirate box with gems etc. Be sure to have them write their names on the box.

After all the guests are there pass out their pirate attire for the party. At http://www.polkadotzkidz.com/ we provide an adorable pirate scarf hat, pirate eye patch, and bandana for the each child. We love the pirate scarf hat - it is something different than the traditional pirate hat yet easy and fun to wear.

After all the guest are dressed send them out on a pirate hunt to look for a treasure. If you have a larger party it may be good to divide into a couple of teams. Have separate maps and clues for each team. Everyone should be rewarded with a prize or prizes during the hunt. When the kids are younger I think it is fun to have something for them at each location. You may have a hint that says something like "Search far and wide for a great place to hide! This cozy little nook has a roof if you take a look!" This may refer to a clubhouse or something in the yard. When they find this location they get some gold coins or other reward plus a clue to the next location. At the final location they get a bigger reward which could be their blow up pirate sword.

Another fun activity for pirates is filling up a kiddie pool with water. You can have some item floating in the "ocean" - such as rubber pirate ducks. You put color codes on the bottom of the ducks. Depending on what color they pick they get a different prize.

An additional fun game if you have time and are not worn out is pin the flag on the pirate ship. You can print out a pirate ship or get a picture of one and attach to poster board. Then make some little flags - you can even use large labels and have the kids blindfolded and stick it on the ship.

After your fun and games it is time for a little food and/or cake and ice cream. These will all look great on the plates provided at Polka Dotz.

You can finish the party off with the pirate ship pinata. This is always fun for the kids. For the younger group you make want to put a couple of holes in the pinata or help out along the way. When the candy falls they will all be having a blast.

Sleepover Birthday Box - Girls Slumber Birthday Party Ideas

Welcome all. I am going to dedicate a day writing to each one of our birthday party ideas. Today I am going to focus on our girls sleepover birthday box. This box is one of my favorites. I acutally don't have a daughter old enough to enjoy this box but I can not wait until my almost 2 year old reaches the time she is ready for a slumber party.

One of my favorite items in this party box is the monogrammed pillowcase for the birthday girl. The birthday girl gets her choice of fabrics allowing her to pick her favorite colors or try and match her bedroom colors. These have been very popular lately especially with families getting ready to send a child off to camp.

This party is designed for an older crowd - ages 6 - 12 that don't need as much parent entertainment. One idea to make the party exciting is a "Come as you are" Party. We use to do this often when I was younger. You hand deliver the birthday invites and try and catch the guests in their pjs. They have to wear whatever they have on when they get their invites to the party.

For this party I would recommend having the guests arrive around 5pm. You can begin the party with some fun and games. One game I love is the commercial creation game. You divide the guests into 2 or 3 groups. You give each group a pre-prepared bag of objects that they have to use to create a commercial. You give the groups 15 - 20 minutes to create their commercial. You then have each group present its new commercial creation. Be sure to have a video camera ready.

After some fun and games - everyone will be ready for dinner and cake. Polka Dotz provides you with all the paper products you need to get in the sleepover spirt.

After dinner, have all the girls change into their pjs if they are not already. It is time for using the piggy paint toenail polish. This polish is completely non-toxic and made for tweens. It comes in exciting colors and is easy to use. The party comes with 3 bottles of piggy paint and toe seperators. Have the girls pair off and give each other an amazing pedicure.

As their toes are drying (you can speed up this process with a hair dryer), have the girls choose one of the 2 movies that come in the party box. They can also try out their new lipglosses or body glitter. Have the girls get ready for the movie by getting out their sleeping bags and putting on their new "littlemissmatched" toe socks. This will be sure to get all the girls giggling.

As they are watching the movie, you can pop the popcorn that comes with the birthday box and drop off the "movie time" candy that is provided.

Afther the movie you can leave the girls to their own imagination with some suggested chit-chat topics or prepared funny questions to read and a suggestion to get to bed soon.

When the girls get up in the morning, everyone will have enjoyed a wonderful time.

Exhausted but working hard - New Products

Today my co-owner and I were busy sewing. We have several orders from the last two weeks and we were busy working hard on them. Most of the orders were straight embroidery work and not alot of birthday boxes today. We did talk to a new store who wants to carry one of our boy birthday boxes and one of our girl boxes in her store. Yea.

Some exciting new monogramming products we have include a monogrammed stainless steel water bottle. This has been very popular for gift giving and especially teacher end of the year gifts. The picture is up above.

We also have an adorable new boys initial shirt. We can do it in a variety of different fabrics but it has proven to be very popular along with the girls initial shirt.

1st Birthday Party

So I am not sure what to actually do in my blog. Starting a new business has been exhausting. We still feel that our birthday parties in a box are a great idea but are having trouble getting the word out. Recently we just came up with our 1st Birthday Celebration Box. Birthday Parties for 7-10 year olds

My kids have reached the age where it becomes more difficult to plan birthday parites for them. They still have an interest in having a party with their friends, however, they are less interested in the theme parties or having a location specific parties. What is a mom to do? My two oldest 7 and 9 are both boys. The older had a birthday back in October. We had a Wii sleepover party. It was a huge success and all the boys enjoyed themselves. Some stayed the night - others had sports conflicts etc and left around 10pm. We provided popcorn, wii games, borrowed some wii remotes and had a great time. This is the inspiration for the party we are creating for our new website. We are hoping to provide a wii/sleepover type of party framework. We are planning to include paper goods, invites, all the basics. For the party favor we are going to supply monogrammed water bottles for each of the attendees. We feel this a nice reusable gift that will be appreciated for months to come. I still feel we need one other good idea to complete the party and will be thinking on this topic. Parties for 4 year olds

When choosing a party for a kid the first thing you need to consider is the kids age. This will determine how many kids you may want to invite, the party theme, party length of time and whether parents stay or not.

First off is how many kids to invite. The rule of thumb has always been the number of guests should equal the kids age. I think this is a good rule to stay close to. If you child is 4 - I would suggest limiting the size ofo the party to 7 kids.

Second of all you must choose a theme. The most popular themes for this age are princess for girl and pirates for boys. These are the two parties we feature on our website www.polkadotzkidz.com .
